The first event on this topic took place in January 2016. Credit Dimensions: bespokes, tranches & options reflected the twin strands drawing most interest at that moment. One is a classic structured credit tool, bespoke corporate tranches, that is grabbing the attention of yield-hungry hedge funds.
The other, credit options, appeals as much to macro funds and real money investors as it does to structured credit funds, and has gained traction amid recent high volatility.
This event covers European direct lending and was first run in 2015 as a four panel workshop. It was an afternoon event in 2016 and for 2017 will be a full day.
Sessions this year were packed throughout to hear speakers such as Patrick Marshall from Hermes and Peter Wilson from the British Business Bank.
General credit event covering CLOs, credit hedge funds, exotics credit and direct lending. Started in 2011, the Credit Symposium is now in its 6th year and is the premier structured credit event in Europe. Top investors from Europe attend the event.
It is followed by the Manager Awards dinner the same evening, which also attracts the top CLO and credit hedge fund managers globally.
In 2016 26 companies sponsored or exhibited at the Credit Symposium. They came from 14 countries, mainly the UK and Europe, but significantly over 25% were from the USA.
2016 saw the first Private Credit event in New York. A very strong agenda attracted top quality speakers from some of the biggest names in this area, including Ares, Antares, Churchill, NEPC, City of San Jose Office of Retirement Services and New Mexico PERA.
The stellar lineup attracted many investors and buy side made up almost two thirds of the audience. Participants came from both Europe and the USA with 8 countries represented, including Uruguay.
The CLO Investor Summit is now in its 6th year and attracts the top investors in the CLO market.
Interesting agendas have featured a mix of panels, mini-presentations, keynotes and group fantasy “games” building CLO funds.
In 2015 we launched the Scrolls of Excellence, which recognise the best service providers in the market, be they banks, trustees, law firms or research teams. These awards are voted on by all maket participants and are presented at the conference.
